MASKEEI's Work Groups

The Working Groups.

The Executive Board forms Working Groups for each Sub Energy Sector where Energy Efficiency and Conservation are paramount issues. These are the IndustryMobilityCommercial Buildings and Households Sectors. Participation in the Working Groups’ activities is open for all MASKEEI members and activists.

Each Working Group, led by a Coordinator, focuses on addressing efforts of energy efficiency and conservation in the respective sector, and produces reports on the status, progress and development of the efforts and on the basis of which MASKEEI shall publish its standpoints and recommendations on the overall issues.

The Industry Working Group

The Group addresses in depth issues of energy efficiency and conservation in Industries encompassing the Manufacturing; Processes (including Chemical and Mining) ; Services; and Power Industries.

The Mobility Working Group

The Group addresses in depth the issues of energy efficiency and conservation in the mobility sector, which encompass the transportation systems, the logistic systems and other systems that require or facilitate efficient mobility of peoples and goods, like the Smart Cities, the Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

Because of the special and dominant function of transportation in mobility sector, this Working Group will also address the issues of manufacturing the transportation means (vehicles) , which gives significant challenge in terms of achieving fuel or power ( in the case of Electric Vehicle) efficiency /performance standards, closely related to the manufacturing process.

The Commercial Buildings Working Group

The Group addresses in depth the issues of energy efficiency and conservation in the (Commercial building Sector encompassing the components of constructing and managing commercial buildings. The commercial buildings include all buildings and facilities utilized for non-residential purposes.

The Energy for Household Working Group

The Group addresses broadly and specifically the efficient use of energy in the household and residential housing systems. This group also addresses the issues of using related systems and equipment for household purposes that require energy use, and the issues related to energy efficiency awareness building in the household sector.
